I’m a certified tribal artist specializing in fiber art in Alaska, Meridian Mills has been fantastic for their customer service, prices, quick shipping (they don’t charge a fortune for Alaska) & GREAT quality yarns. It’s made me so happy buying cellulose yarns, offered in a variety of vibrant colors that don’t bleed, direct from a manufacturer in America so my projects are 100% Made in America. This cotton’s perfect, it’s non-mercerized cotton in this weight so my fabrics will have a great hand and perfect for summer items. The yarn is soft and strong enough to confidently use as warp, even for tapestry weaving. I ordered the chenille yarn (no longer in production), I’m really looking forward to acid dyeing the silk content of the yarn, knitting luxury quality plushies, weaving velvety shawls, scarves & blankets. Meridian Mills is my go-to for cotton yarns, weaving yarns, & I can’t wait to start getting Meridian’s shaniko and alpaca blends. It’s even harder finding alpaca and merino/sheep wool blends- they’re my favorite for making sumptuously soft items fit for Alaska without using bulky, heavy weight yarns.
This pink yarn is not as vibrant as it appears in the photo. It is more of a deep rose pink, not a hot pink. Also, the texture is somewhat rustic. It is definitely not smooth. I’ll combine it with Homestead cotton, which it strongly resembles.
The color is perfectly described- a wonderful rich yellow. I will use for different quilting projects - the cotton strands are strong. Thank you for the opportunity to support my neighbors by buying local.
Excellent quality, and I’ve gone through 4 cones and not found a single knot.
These are great quality yarns and I haven’t found a single knot in any of the cones I ordered.
I got the sample card of colors, and while it’s a modest palette, it covers all the main bases extremely well.
