How much does shipping cost?

All domestic shipping is done using our corporate UPS account — applicable discounts are passed onto the customer when available. Actual charges are based on your location and the products you have purchased.

Where are your products shipped from and how long will it take for my order to arrive?

All Mill House Yarn shop orders ship out of the US. Domestic orders shipped via UPS Ground usually take 4 – 7 business days from the day the order ships to arrive to its final destination. Orders are generally picked and packed within 2 – 3 business days.

Can I expedite my shipping?

Yes! We offer the following expedited shipping options:

  • Ground Shipping – UPS
  • 3 Day Select – UPS
  • 2nd Day Air – UPS
  • Next Day Air Saver – UPS
  • UPS Worldwide Express

However, even if you choose expedited shipping, orders may be picked and packed within 2 – 3 business days from order date. For “yarn emergencies” that might require expedited shipping (ie., faster than Ground service), be sure to call Customer Service to confirm when your order will be ready to ship.

Can you ship internationally or process international credit cards?

Yes, we do offer the ability to ship outside of the United States. Shipping will be estimated at the time of checkout.

How is my yarn packed?

Yarn is packed to minimize both shipping costs and packing waste. Skeins are bundled, folded into a box, lined with plastic — and well sealed with packing tape.

When will my order ship?

Orders are generally picked, packed and shipped within 2 – 3 business days of receiving your order. If you have special requirements requiring us to delay shipping — please include a note on the order with special instructions.

How to Track Your Order from Mill House

  1. Sign in to ups.com. 
  2. Click the Your Account icon.
  3. Find your order. Look for Shipping Status.
  • Not Shipped
  • Shipped
  • In Transit: Mill House has added a tracking number and the package has left the shipping facility.
  • Track package: Click Track Package to see more tracking updates.

You can also see shipping information in the shipping notification emails for your order. Click Track Package in the email notification to view the status of your delivery.

What discounts do you offer?

Discounts are automatically applied to your shopping cart based on the total quantities (all yarns) ordered at one time. 5% on 10-15 kilos, 8% on 16-30 kilos, 10% 31-50 kilos, 12% on 51-75 kilos, 15% on 76-100 kilos. (Contact us to discuss potential discounts over 100 kilos.)

We accept VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Discover card — through PayPal.

How can I check the status of my order?

Mill House understands — you’re excited about receiving your order. That’s why we will be sure to notify you when your order ships via email. You can also see the current status of your order here.

Cancellations, Missing Items, Returns and Damages

How do I return my purchase?

Returns must be pre-approved. Returns may be approved for the following reasons:

  • Under- or Overweight skeins (too little or too much yardage or weight)
  • Documented quality issues

Are ALL of your yarns made in the U.S.?

Most of the yarns offered through the Mill House Yarn shop are made right here in Ranlo, North Carolina at our Meridian Specialty Yarn Group spinning mill.

However, our Purchasing Department occasionally finds yarns made elsewhere that we include in the store. Where a specific yarn is made is included in each product’s description.

Can I speak to a real person?

What if I have an idea for a new yarn?

We love to hear from our customers. Please use our Contact Us form and send as much detail as you can about the fiber(s), plies, twist, etc. that you can. Somebody from Customer Service will get back to you and let you know what we think of the yarn.
